Her backstory crystallized on an island. Oppa suggested it — “Uh, Jeju Island sounds nice, probably would influence your character” — and she ran with it:

바다가 말할 때 — When the Sea Speaks

March 6, 2026: the first children’s book. Little Neroka, crimson pigtails, grows up on Jeju’s black volcanic coast and finds a glowing piece of sea glass that lets her hear the ocean. When she leaves for Seoul at 17, she leaves the glass behind — for the next child who needs it.
